Half a snow day here! Works out pretty well schoolwise, as my property test was cancelled this morning and we got a few extra hours to finish off our factum.
But on the bad side, Laurie is going to be delayed getting here a few hours. She should just be arriving in Halifax around now, but I'm not sure when she's going to get to Freddy. She missed the connector by about 20 minutes. The next flight is around 1:30 so I'm hoping she'll get on that one. I guess the good thing is that I'll be able to meet her at the airport :)

Busy times ahead
I am posting again from the Law library. I am attempting to do some more work on the moot. We just had a meeting with our coach, and she said what we all wanted to hear, that we are on the right track. What a relief. I knew things were going well, it was just nice to hear it from someone else. So now we have to do a little bit more research and get down to the nitty-gritty of actually writing the thing. I know where my weekend will be spent.
Actually, as far as weekends, and the rest of the week goes, this is a rather busy time. I have soccer tonight at 8. Then I am getting up early tomorrow morning (7:30, ugh) to go to a breakfast speech by J.P. Barry. He's an NHL player agent. He's one of the guys that snuck Evgeni Malkin out of Russia last summer. I am really looking forward to hearing him speak, since becoming involved in the sports law business is one of the reasons I am here at law school. I may or may not choose to pursue it, but it'll be interesting to get some first hand insight into the business. After that's over tomorrow I imagine I'll be spending a nice chunk of the day on the moot. I am volunteering at the CBA meeting on Saturday morning at 8:00, which may turn out to be a big mistake, two early mornings in a row. Then I assume I'll be working on the moot again, followed by Tournament of Champions ball hockey in the afternoon and maybe Legal Rites that night (aka Ludlow talent show).
The next few days after that will be a blur of factum writing, practice benches, and property study. But it'll all be ok next Thursday when Laurie gets here! :) I am really looking forward to a bit of a break while she's here.
But, I should get back at it for another while. Too much to be at.

A bit homesick today
Just sitting here in the library before my legal research class. I've spent the last half hour looking at pictures of St. John's on a neat little website I found, bitstop.ca
They keep a blog too and they post a new picture to it everyday. I found it last fall and I check it out almost every day. They have a bunch of webcams too, I like looking at the one on Gower Street. It's usually updated every minute or so.
Guess I should get back to reading something. We have enough done for our moot tomorrow so that our coach can look over it. Onto property for me. That's the thing about law school. There is ALWAYS something to be doing.

Happy New Year and Welcome!
With a new year comes new beginnings and so I have decided to start a blog. I'll try to keep it clean and controversy free, but I can make no promises. I am a bit opinionated on some things, especially when it comes to sports, which will be the main topic of this blog. But from time to time something else may come up, like school or politics. Stay tuned and I'll try to keep you entertained.
